Describe Your Style in Three Words?
My style is beautiful, colors and practicality.
How Long Have You Been Stitching For?
I have been embroidering for about 15 years.
What’s Your Favorite Stitch?
Favorite? Cross stitch, of course!
How Did You Learn to Stitch?
A friend at work introduced me to cross stitch, she was very passionate about it and I wanted it too. My work colleagues, knowing that I quickly find new activities and often lose interest, bet with me that I would not finish my first project. But I did it, it was my first painting "Geisha in the Garden'' from an embroidery magazine. So I fell in love with embroidery and it became my hobby. Often before work, I ran to the store for new skeins of DMC (this is truly my favorite thread) and during my lunch break I always embroidered.
What Inspires You?
I am very inspired by different colour combinations in nature. I also really love the paintings of artists who use very delicate, pastel translucent shades, this gives me inspiration for my work.
What’s Your Favorite Piece Of Work?
My favorite work is peonies. In this piece, I like the transition of colours to translucent shades.
What Difference Has Stitching Made To Your Life?
Embroidering has made me realise that I am a creative person. Despite having a technical mindset, it is embroidery that helps me draw strength for my other projects and gives me that calmness and energy that are so important in this world.
