Describe Your Style in Three Words?

Floral, colorful, whimsical

How Long Have You Been Stitching For?

For about 20 years

What’s Your Favorite Stitch?

Reverse chain stitch - it’s such a versatile stitch I love it for filling stitches as well as using it for line work it curves beautifully.

How Did You Learn to Stitch?

I was gifted an embroidery book from my Mum when I was about 8 years old. That's where my love of embroidery first began. When in school I incorporated a lot of hand embroidery within my GCSE’s, A-Levels and continued learning while I was at University.

What Are Your Embroidery Essentials?

Good quality fabric and threads, DMC shade cards, sharp scissors and a new needle at the start of every project.

What Inspires You?

I mostly take inspiration from architecture and natural environments, I love the interesting shapes and color palettes that can be found within them. I’m always drawn to colors first and then create a design to match the colors rather than the other way around.

What’s Your Favorite Piece Of Work?

I don’t have a favorite, mainly because every new piece I create becomes my new favorite.

What Difference Has Stitching Made To Your Life?

Embroidery has been in my life for as long as I can remember. It’s always helped me to unwind and focus my thoughts. Its repetitive nature means I don’t have to focus too hard and can relax into my project, often offering a welcomed distraction from daily life.
