Product Description
The kit contains everything you need to reinterpret this famous work in cross stitch using Six-Strand Embroidery Floss. Reinterpreting his brush strokes in glossy thread brings a new dimension to this iconic artwork. Van Gogh painted several versions of the work during the summer of 1889, whilst he was a patient at the psychiatric hospital of Saint-Paul de Mausole, in the south of France.
Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Van Gogh has become one of the most famous and influential figures in Western art history. His landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits are characterized by bold colors and dramatic, impulsive and expressive brushwork.
The National Gallery, London houses one of the greatest collections of paintings in the world. Its collection boasts 2,300 works including many famous paintings such as van Eyck’s Arnolfini Portrait, Velázquez’s Rokeby Venus, Turner’s Fighting Temeraire and Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. All major traditions of Western European painting are represented from the artists of the late medieval era and Renaissance Italy to the French Impressionists.
