GUIDE
Product Description
Our Waste Canvas makes it easy to cross stitch on any type of fabric. Baste the waste canvas to your chosen fabric, using large tacking stitches then use the clearly defined squares to help you stitch neat, regular cross stitches.
Once your cross stitch is complete, trim the waste canvas close to your finished design. Then wet the canvas and use tweezers to gently pull each thread of the waste canvas out from under your cross stitches. Our waste canvas can also be used for a wide range of other counted embroidery techniques.
Available with or without a built in 20x20 grid of blue threads to help you accurately count and map out your design.
The count refers to the number of stitches you can make in an inch. The metric equivalent is pts/cm - stitches per centimetre. Therefore, the higher the count the smaller stitches you will make resulting in a finer finish. It is common to ‘stitch over two’ meaning each stitch crosses over two warp and two weft threads of the waste canvas.
