Meet the Maker
- How would you describe your style in three words?
Textured, peaceful, lush
- How long have you been stitching for?
Almost 2 years. I started in November of 2019.
- What are your embroidery essentials?
Besides a good movie or audiobook in the background? DMC Color Variations, felt, and my Lion King needleminder.
- What inspires you?
I live in a very verdant place, so even just spending time in my backyard inspires the natural look of my work. Walking in forests and along rivers, studying natural history, and harboring a lifelong love of the fantasy and sci-fi genres have all added to my growing list of inspiration.
- What’s your favorite stitch?
I love French knots! They are so versatile!
- What’s your favorite piece of work?
It's so hard to choose, but I still love the camel sunset hoop I made when I first started stitching. It even ended up going to live in Egypt!
- How did you learn how to stitch?
I'm self-taught and still learning! A lot of trial and error, but it all stems from the desire to create new and unique things.
