- 3 mm crochet hook
- DMC tapestry needle size 24
sc = single crochet
ch = chain
st = stitch
sl st = slip stitch
With Natura N25 (Aguamarine)
, chain 41 stitches.
Inserting the hook into 2nd chain from hook, make 1 sc into next 40 chain stitches.
*Turn the work.
Ch 1, make 1 sc into next 40 stitches.*
Repeat from * until * 45 more rows (total 46 rows).
Cut the yarn and pull the tail through the last stitch. Weave in ends.
Repeat and make another piece.
Follow the pattern and embroider the designs with cross stitch centered in the squares you’ve crocheted.
The crocheted fabric forms the grid on which you will cross stitch.
Don’t pull the thread too tight or leave it too loose. Just stitch with a nice, relaxed hand so your stitches don’t distort the fabric and lie flat.
Hold both pieces together with wrong sides together. Use Natura N75 (Moss Green)
and join with sl st through both thicknesses at the top right corner of the potholder, ch 1, 3 sc in same stitch, sc in each st around the potholder, with 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st. Ch 1. Make a 2nd round with a sc in each sc around making 3 sc in the center sc of each corner.
Ch 25 and join to the first sc with sl st. Turn and make a sl st in each ch. Join with sl st. Finish off and weave in ends.
This adorable project makes for a great hostess gift.
