A motif embroidered on Aida canvas
A denim dress
A piece of thermosealable fabric 11 x 15 cm
One metre of matching rickrack 5 mm wide
A reel of thread matching the Aida canvas and rickrack

First step

Select the place where you want to apply the embroidered motif.
Cut a rectangle of 14 cm x 10 cm, centring the embroidery.
Round the corners and cut off the excess fabric (see diagram).

Second step

Fix the thermosealable fabric at the back of the embroidery with an iron and cut along the outline of the Aida canvas (see diagram).
Pin the embroidery on the dress and overcast all around the motif to hold it in place.

Third step

Arrange the rickrack around the embroidery, pinning it in such a way that it conceals the zigzag stitches (see diagram).  Turn in a small piece at the junction, baste if necessary, and machine stitch in the middle of the width with thread of the same colour

To finish, more rickrack can be sewn on the dress, following the same instructions.
