
- Insert hook in 2nd chain as shown in fig. 1.

- Yarn over and draw yarn through stitch (fig. 2).

- Yarn over and draw yarn through both loops on hook (fig. 3). That's right! You've worked a single crochet!

- Insert hook in next chain (fig. 4) and repeat steps 2 and 3, to the end of the row. Excellent! You've completed 9 single crochets and you have 9 stitches in your row.

- Chain 1 and turn work from right to left (fig. 5).

- Start next row by inserting the hook under 2 strands of forst stitch (fig. 6).

- Repeat steps 2 and 3 above and continue to make single crochets to end of row (fig. 7-8).
- Continue working in rows until you are comfortable and your stitches look nice and even.
